Making a Remembrance Book

If you want to make one like I did, here are supplies you will need:

· 1- 3 ring binder (Optional: get one with plastic sleeve in front for a title page)

· Notebook Paper

· A Package of dividers (I use ones with pockets on them)

You can decorate the front of your binder any way you want.

The reason I call mine a remembrance book is because of the verses in Malachi Chapter 3:16-18.

Then those who feared Yahweh spoke one with another; and Yahweh listened and heard, and a book of memory was written before him for those who feared Yahweh and who honored his name. 17 They shall be mine,” says Yahweh of Armies, “my own possession in the day that I make. I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him. 18 Then you shall return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him who serves God and him who doesn’t serve him. -World English Bible

If you wish you can label your dividers. I have sections for dealing with fear, worry, anger, stewardship and more. These can be personalized to fit whatever scriptures the Lord prompts you to write down.

I take a piece of notebook paper and write down the scripture I want to remember. I will write the verse over and over again as the Lord leads. Sometimes that’s four to five times or maybe more. I put that piece of paper in the pocket of the labeled divider that fits that scripture. I may come back to that same sheet of paper the next day to write more. It’s my practice sheet. Sometimes if I don’t want to waste paper, I will write multiple scriptures on the same practice sheet.

For the “record” to look back and remember I will write the verses one time on a separate sheet of paper. I will put the piece of paper in the rings of binder behind the appropriate divider. That way in my “record to remember” I will have the promises of God about anger, worry, fear, and more together when I am struggling with temptation or having a difficult day.

This method has been one way that has helped me remember God’s Word when I need it most. It’s just one way of many out there that can help us remember God’s Promises. If this doesn’t work for you, don’t be discouraged. We all learn in different ways.

The most important thing is that the Holy Spirit will teach and remind us of what we’ve learned, if we know Jesus as Lord and Savior and spend time with Him. The thing to remember is, we can’t be reminded of something we never took the time to sit down and learn, so find a method that works best for you.
