What is the Truth?
Today’s Topic: Yeshua/ Jesus Christ
The World claims that Jesus was a good man, a prophet, a good teacher. They claim He never said He was God. They mention the historical record of Jesus of not condemning people or judging , but forget such words after healing or rescuing people: “Go and sin no more,” or “Be careful lest something worse happens to you.” They claim Jesus is all Love and no judgment. “ It’s okay to ___ Jesus understands…” “God will still let you into Heaven even if you ___.” “All gods/ all religions/ all roads lead to Heaven…”
This is the new age Jesus the world loves, because the World hated the True Jesus, the True Yeshua so much that they wanted Him dead.
Jesus Christ or Yeshua in Hebrew was with God in the beginning of Creation. He is God’s Son and the plan to redeem mankind was never plan B , it was the plan from the beginning. Jesus Christ means Jesus the Anointed One, it’s not a last name people curse.
Jesus was born of a virgin, a Jew, the Messiah of both the Jews and Gentiles , the Hope of all Mankind/ every nation, 100 percent God and 100 percent man. He walked this earth, being tempted as we are, but did not sin. He came the first time to save people from their sins, not to condemn them. He died taking the punishment against the Only God whose Holiness cannot dwell with or look upon sinful rebellion. His death and resurrection was the only way we could have the choice , the opportunity to know our Creator, to know God as our Father. The Only Way to spend eternity with God forever. We cannot claim Jesus as Savior and not accept His Lordship in our lives. We cannot claim we want to be with the King who makes all the rules and laws of the coming New Heaven and New Earth , if we do not see our rebellion on this earth as sin. A Christ Follower’s life should be one that has asked forgiveness of the sin and rebellion against God and strive to turn away from such actions and activities that do not please the One who now calls us Children of God. Until you accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, you are created by God , but do not bear the title Child of God. We will not be perfect this side of eternity, but the Holy Spirit inside a believer will not allow us to remain in sin, without conviction and discipline. The Holy Spirit gives us the Power and desire to obey the One who shed the blood needed to forgive us. Christ Followers have a way to overcome sin, if we just spend the time needed with the Lord , and ask Him to show the way of escape. Without Jesus as the Perfect Sacrifice, without the shedding of His innocent blood we could not be forgiven. We would be doomed for Hell. There would be no option to turn onto the narrow way to Life, from the broad way to Destruction. Many ways, many religions lead to the destructive path to Hell, because the Lordship of God’s Only Son is not acknowledged.
Jesus or Yeshua will come back again and restore all things as they should be without sin. God the Father will give all judgment over to Jesus and all creation will flee in respectful awe and fear as He judges those who did not accept Him as Lord and Savior. Likewise, even Christ Followers will be judged, the difference will be not on salvation, but on how we lived our lives after accepting Him as Savior and Lord. We shall all give an account on how we stewarded what He gave us. Jesus does love us, but He is not okay with us going back to those things that lead to death : Physically and spiritually. He died and was resurrected so we could be rescued from such rebellious ways. He cannot excuse or allow into Heaven those things which He calls the Christ Follower to give up, to lay down, to deny themselves. It’s not an easy road nor without struggles, otherwise Jesus wouldn’t have compared it to taking up your cross. He wouldn’t have gone through the physical life as a human being, if God could allow your born with nature in eternity with Him. Do not be deceived by the false version of Jesus that the World loves. Jesus is the Only Way to God that God accepts. Jesus is God and we will be accountable to Him. He loves us, but cannot sweep our rebellion under the rug and say come on in. No sin can remain in His Presence, so might as well learn to lay it down now and live without it, not excuse it.
The question that often comes to my mind when faced with a choice between a sin I don’t think I can overcome and God’s Way, is which do I love more: Jesus or the sin I am making excuses for?
John 14:6
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
John 3 :3-21
3 Jesus answered him, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born anew, † he can’t see God’s Kingdom.”
4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
5 Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and Spirit, he can’t enter into God’s Kingdom. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Don’t marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born anew.’ 8 The wind‡ blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don’t know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
9 Nicodemus answered him, “How can these things be?”
10 Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and don’t understand these things? 11 Most certainly I tell you, we speak that which we know and testify of that which we have seen, and you don’t receive our witness. 12 If I told you earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven. 14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only born§ Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. 18 He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only born Son of God. 19 This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does evil hates the light and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.”
John 8 : 2-11
Now very early in the morning, he came again into the temple, and all the people came to him. He sat down and taught them. 3 The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman taken in adultery. Having set her in the middle, 4 they told him, “Teacher, we found this woman in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now in our law, Moses commanded us to stone such women.*What then do you say about her?” 6 They said this testing him, that they might have something to accuse him of.
But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with his finger. 7 But when they continued asking him, he looked up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground with his finger.
9 They, when they heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning from the oldest, even to the last. Jesus was left alone with the woman where she was, in the middle. 10 Jesus, standing up, saw her and said, “Woman, where are your accusers? Did no one condemn you?”
11 She said, “No one, Lord.”
Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go your way. From now on, sin no more.”†
John 1:1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him. Without him, nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome† it.
Matthew 26:62-64
62 The high priest stood up and said to him, “Have you no answer? What is this that these testify against you?” 63 But Jesus stayed silent. The high priest answered him, “I adjure you by the living God that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God.”
64 Jesus said to him, “You have said so. Nevertheless, I tell you, after this you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of the sky.”
Revelation 20:11-15- judgement of unbelievers
11 I saw a great white throne and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. There was found no place for them. 12 I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades‡ gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Death and Hades§ were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 If anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.
Romans Chapter 6
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection; 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him, 9 knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over him! 10 For the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God. 11 Thus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12 Therefore don’t let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 Also, do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin will not have dominion over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be! 16 Don’t you know that when you present yourselves as servants and obey someone, you are the servants of whomever you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God that, whereas you were bondservants of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were delivered. 18 Being made free from sin, you became bondservants of righteousness.
19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh; for as you presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now present your members as servants to righteousness for sanctification. 20 For when you were servants of sin, you were free from righteousness. 21 What fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22 But now, being made free from sin and having become servants of God, you have your fruit of sanctification and the result of eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I Corinthians 10:12-13
12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful that he doesn’t fall.
13 No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
1 Corinthians 3:10-15 -judgment of Christ Followers
10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another builds on it. But let each man be careful how he builds on it. 11 For no one can lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or straw, 13 each man’s work will be revealed. For the Day will declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test what sort of work each man’s work is. 14 If any man’s work remains which he built on it, he will receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work is burned, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, but as through fire.
John 8:23-59
23 He said to them, “You are from beneath. I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world. 24 I said therefore to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am‡ he, you will die in your sins.”
25 They said therefore to him, “Who are you?”
Jesus said to them, “Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning. 26 I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you. However, he who sent me is true; and the things which I heard from him, these I say to the world.”
27 They didn’t understand that he spoke to them about the Father. 28 Jesus therefore said to them, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and I do nothing of myself, but as my Father taught me, I say these things. 29 He who sent me is with me. The Father hasn’t left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him.”
30 As he spoke these things, many believed in him. 31 Jesus therefore said to those Jews who had believed him, “If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. 32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” *
33 They answered him, “We are Abraham’s offspring, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How do you say, ‘You will be made free’?”
34 Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, everyone who commits sin is the bondservant of sin. 35 A bondservant doesn’t live in the house forever. A son remains forever. 36 If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. 37 I know that you are Abraham’s offspring, yet you seek to kill me, because my word finds no place in you. 38 I say the things which I have seen with my Father; and you also do the things which you have seen with your father.”
39 They answered him, “Our father is Abraham.”
Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. 40 But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham didn’t do this. 41 You do the works of your father.”
They said to him, “We were not born of sexual immorality. We have one Father, God.”
42 Therefore Jesus said to them, “If God were your father, you would love me, for I came out and have come from God. For I haven’t come of myself, but he sent me. 43 Why don’t you understand my speech? Because you can’t hear my word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and doesn’t stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and the father of lies. 45 But because I tell the truth, you don’t believe me. 46 Which of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? 47 He who is of God hears the words of God. For this cause you don’t hear, because you are not of God.”
48 Then the Jews answered him, “Don’t we say well that you are a Samaritan, and have a demon?”
49 Jesus answered, “I don’t have a demon, but I honor my Father and you dishonor me. 50 But I don’t seek my own glory. There is one who seeks and judges. 51 Most certainly, I tell you, if a person keeps my word, he will never see death.”
52 Then the Jews said to him, “Now we know that you have a demon. Abraham died, as did the prophets; and you say, ‘If a man keeps my word, he will never taste of death.’ 53 Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? The prophets died. Who do you make yourself out to be?”
54 Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say that he is our God. 55 You have not known him, but I know him. If I said, ‘I don’t know him,’ I would be like you, a liar. But I know him and keep his word. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day. He saw it and was glad.”
57 The Jews therefore said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old! Have you seen Abraham?”
58 Jesus said to them, “Most certainly, I tell you, before Abraham came into existence, I AM.*”
59 Therefore they took up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple, having gone through the middle of them, and so passed by.
The Jews would have known Jesus using the words I AM is repeating the Name God gave Moses as God’s Name at the burning bush .
Exodus 3:13-15
13 Moses said to God, “Behold, when I come to the children of Israel, and tell them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what should I tell them?”
14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM,” and he said, “You shall tell the children of Israel this: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ” 15 God said moreover to Moses, “You shall tell the children of Israel this, ‘Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations.
Jesus Christ / Yeshua is God’s Son equal with God. He claimed as such. He claimed that He was the Only Way to Life , the Only Way to Heaven, and that the Only Way to God the Father.
The question is do you believe this Truth? Do you believe the Biblical Version of Jesus as revealed in the scriptures, or do you just believe the world’s version that He was just a good teacher, prophet, all loving , but not having the desire to justly judge us as King of Kings and Lord of Lords?
As long as you have breath, there is still opportunity to turn from your sins and accept His Lordship . Our belief in Him must be deeper than just knowing He exists, even demons know that and shudder. The obedience to His Lordship is the difference between a Christ Follower who believes and Satan and the demons who were kicked out of Heaven….
Tomorrow is never promised. Don’t wait too late.
Acts 4:12
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”
Acts 3:37-39
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
38 Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself.”
