"At the King's table" -originally written December 1, 2015
Many have gone before us , some we know and others we have yet to know. Friends and loved ones we miss dearly.
People are welcomed into Heaven by Jesus and possibly some people a person knew in life. A person looks at the wonderful place God has created for them to live in His Presence forever. All their longings fulfilled and finally Home. Maybe they sing to Lord or dance, but surely that isn't all. Think of Garden of Eden before mankind fell. Adam and Eve weren't recorded to have sung in the garden in paradise. The most important things recorded was that God was with them walking and talking with them. Adam was given tasks to do and had a not only a relationship but a friendship with Eve. Maybe our loved ones are getting to know our family in Heaven, those we still need to meet or doing a task given to them. But I can picture Children laughing not being bored. I can imagine Jesus smiling. As we know, not all of us that know Jesus as Savior and Lord are Home yet. So maybe our loved ones are waiting in anticipation for the day for us to join them, knowing that the King's table is ready for more to come. Everything is in God's perfect timing on when our arrival Home is. So as we miss our loved ones and grieve , those who are with the Lord are Home and safe. We will soon join them , could be sooner than we think if Our Heavenly Father sends Jesus back soon. In light of eternity, separation from loved ones who know the Lord is temporary. This makes our desire to see friends and loved ones know Jesus so critical. We want to spend eternity with everyone we know. The troubles and pain of this world will pass as we step into eternity but on the other side if we are waiting for all of our brothers and sisters in Christ to be reunited forever , will we wonder who will join us?
Jesus above everyone else wants us to join Him in His Kingdom, a place created for us to call Home. Everything we truly longed for fulfilled. If you don't have a personal relationship with Jesus ask for forgiveness of your sins and commit to following and obeying Him as Lord of your Life. Jesus is waiting on you to come to Him. Heaven and the future Heaven and Earth will be a place you will fit in and belong , for your Creator knows and loves you regardless of your past. He doesn't want you to go through life without purpose, love, peace, or joy. All those things we search for are found in the Source , who is Jesus. A Christ Follower's life isn't easy but in the end it is worth it. Why go to Hell, a place of torment not created for you but for Satan and His demons , all for sin's (rebellion and disobedience to God) temporary pleasures. Hell's pain and torment far outweighs sins pleasures and Earth's pains . Our troubles cannot compare to the Joy that will come when our pain will be replaced when we are Home with the Lord.
We can remember those we love during the holidays, but until we join Jesus and those we love, let's be about the Father's business. Telling others the Truth about Jesus and praying they come to know the King and join us at His table while the invitation is given. One day the invitation will be rescinded and choices made.
World English Bible Version
Matthew Chapter 28:18-20
18 Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go‡ and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
John Chapter 3:14-21
14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only born§ Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. 18 He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only born Son of God. 19 This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does evil hates the light and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.”
