God’s Valuable Treasure:Me

These are the lessons used for VBS. They have been re-edited best to my ability for any grammar mistakes. I have put two versions of Scripture in them, that are in public domain and freely available for use: King James Bible Version and World English Bible.

• Lessons are written to the teacher as summaries. I tried to be as delicate as possible with the Hagar lesson for the older grade lessons. Pre-k / Kindergarten uses Noah’s ark. Why did I include Hagar as one of the lessons? Honestly, it’s a question I got asked a lot. The honest answer is it was the first lesson God gave me at 3am one morning for God has not forgotten you. It was the first lesson over a year ago, that started this process. My thinking process is Hagar did not get a choice in her situation whether to even go with Sarah and Abraham, and then the situation gets more complicated. But God met her where she was. Her situation was not ignored by God. In fact, He encouraged and provided for her although her circumstances were not ideal. If kids know about King David’s sin in church, then we can be honest about Abraham’s as well. But use your discretion…
